Far out along Ghana’s western coast, well past Takoradi, Axim rewards the long drive with real beauty — a historic fort on a rocky point, a colourful fishing harbour, and some of the quietest, loveliest beaches in the country. It’s also the gateway to the remarkable Nzulezu stilt village. The far west is a genuine journey from Accra, so it’s best planned as a weekend or longer.
