Getting Around Labadi
Beach on the doorstep, and a driver for everything else
La Pleasure Beach, known locally as Labadi Beach, is one of the easiest places in Accra to spend a whole day. Walk the sand in the morning, eat grilled fish and kelewele as the heat drops, then move on to a bar or restaurant along the coast when the sun goes down. Hotels cluster in this part of central Accra, and the La township just behind them has a character you only get by staying a while. The trouble most visitors hit is getting around. Taxis are hard to flag once you have had a drink, and ride-hailing can be patchy after dark. We bring the car and driver to your hotel or rented house in Labadi, your driver can wait while you swim, and we drive you back whenever you are ready.
Labadi also suits groups and families well. A Corolla is a comfortable choice for a couple or a small group travelling light, a RAV4 gives you room for four or five people with bags, and a Prado is the car for a bigger party or a longer run out of town. For a full group, a Coaster keeps everyone together from the hotel to the beach to lunch and back again, with nobody left waiting for a second car. Whichever you pick, the driver handles the parking, the directions and the timing, so the day runs to your plans rather than the traffic.
